Acoustic treatment and sound proofing are often thought to by synonymous, and yet the two terms describe different ways of treating your recording and listening environments. Sound proofing restricts the movement of sound in and out of the studio (benefiting both you and your neighbours); acoustic treatment concentrates on improving the nature of the sound within the room.
