Comb filtering is a natural phenomenon that affects everything we hear – whether applied deliberately or not. Grant Bridgeman explains all.

When we apply effects and processing treatments within the studio we are often doing so in order to make our recordings sound more ‘real’ – to capture a ‘real-life’ (or even live) performance onto a recorded medium that’s restricted both by the format and by the environment in which we listen to it.
