Whether you’re repairing a few fluffed notes or stitching together a masterpiece from hundreds of separate takes, it seems almost impossible to imagine making a record without undertaking some form of audio editing. Indeed, ever since recordings began to be made on magnetic tape, the process of editing has become an inevitable part of the production process, and it’s something that we’ve become used to doing on a daily basis.
