As we have made the journey from analogue to digital recording, there have been some interesting bridges to cross. The editing benefits of digital recording are rarely questioned, but sound quality was always an issue in comparison to top-end analogue hardware. Only now are the two being compared like-for-like, as bit depths and sampling frequencies have increased.
