Digital noise reduction tools were among the later arrivals on the project studio scene, but most sequencers and editing software now include some kind of noise-reduction algorithm. There are also dedicated plug-ins that deal with different types of noise, with the options ranging upwards to the Oscar-winning Cedar systems so renowned for their performance. All of these processes are quite different from the Dolby systems that were (and still are) found on analogue tape recorders.
