Getting audio signals between one piece of kit and another is a fundamental function in any studio, from Abbey Road to the spare-bedroom home setup. Connecting your various instruments and hardware is easy enough in itself; what you might encounter, though, are issues caused by incorrect signal matching, whereby the output of one device is unsuitable for the input of the next. And as the typical studio setup is increasingly based within the software domain, it’s an issue that’s commonly overlooked.
