Ableton live 7 Workshop - Getting a Groove
Making your music rhythmically interesting by injecting a little of the human touch is a sure-fire way of engaging the listener. Jon Margulies explains how it’s done.

One of the most misunderstood topics in sequenced music is the concept of ‘groove’ and how to make it happen in your music. Groove, in and of itself, doesn’t really mean anything in musical terms – all it describes is something that feels rhythmically compelling. This can be accomplished both in perfectly quantized music as well as the loosest organic flavours. However, very often, music can be made more rhythmically interesting by getting away from rigid quantization.
