One of the great advantages of working with software is the flexibility it offers when it comes to tweaking and editing data. Even recorded audio is no longer thought of as a fixed quantity – as users of Live will be well aware. The program has always been geared towards stretching and manipulating audio almost as if it was MIDI. Like many DAWs, Live stores MIDI and audio data in clips; these are a useful ‘container’ used to define a loop, passage or collection of notes.
