Siouxsie and The Banshees Spellbound

Despite having been paramount in the production of The Police’s first three ground-breaking LPs, Nigel Gray doesn’t get all that much of a mention in Andy Summers’ recently released autobiography One Train Later. When The Police guitarist describes the details preceding the recording of Zenyattà Mondatta in 1980, Gray is finally mentioned, but even then, Summers paints a surprising picture of the formerly unassuming physician turned engineer. By this time, according to Summers, Gray had morphed into a rock star with long hair, cowboy boots and a fringed leather jacket.
