Create a buzz by Podcasting
An enormous potential new listener base is waiting to listen to your music. JoE Silva provides the lowdown on the latest rage in expanding your online presence.

Seemingly far more virulent than any bird-borne influenza virus, podcasting has probably been the fastest-growing phenomenon of the last 12 months. With Apple alone shipping somewhere near 24 million iPod MP3 players during the same period, the potential for getting your music out to a whole new breed of listener is staggering. Scores of major media outlets the world over are now making available all or part of their content in podcast-ready form. Podcasts range from the most inane topics (bread, fish sounds, music for your cat) to underground Dj mixes, foreign newscasts and, of course, football. Getting a podcast up and running is a relatively simple affair, and any musician with aspirations of getting their tunes out to a wider audience should consider working a podcast into their online strategy immediately.
