Ultrabeat includes some basic preset kits, but the real joy of using this contemporary rhythm box lies in creating your own. Dan Livesey steps to the beat.

Never ones to shy away from innovative concepts, Apple has come up with several new members of the family of plug-in instruments and processes in Logic Pro 7, including Logic’s first dedicated drum machine.
