Reason is ideal for live performance, studio work or just noting down ideas. Hollin Jones shows you how to speed up your workflow with template songs.

If you already use Reason, you will know that it can serve a number of different purposes. Designed for immediate ease of use, Reason is equally at home on stage, in the studio or on a laptop. Although it can be used to produce entire tracks, many people use it as a slave ReWired to a higher end sequencer, such as Cubase or Logic, as a live performance tool or as a musical sketchpad to note down ideas as they occur. The fact that it is used in live situations is testament to its stability – nobody wants to have to reboot a crashed laptop on stage!
