Cubase 4.1 Workshop - Fades and Crossfades
If you’re experiencing clicks or glitches in your tracks, Cubase’s flexible fade functionality may hold the solution. Hollin Jones takes control.

When most recording was done in a linear fashion – with rolling tape used to capture takes – overlapping audio on the same channel was not something that would give cause for concern. Takes would be captured either all in one go or by stopping the tape and starting it again. If you wanted to use the same piece of audio more than once, you would print the section to a new piece of tape, cut it, then splice it with another section. This, as you can imagine, required a fair degree of skill.
