Cubase 4.5 Workshop - working with loops part 1
Loops are an essential part of making music in many genres – and Cubase has some great tools to ensure you a smooth ride. Hollin Jones does the rounds.

Audio loops were for many years predominantly a staple of electronic music. More recently, though – as with many areas of music technology – these boundaries have become somewhat blurred and there’s now a huge range of ready-made audio samples collections on the market covering every conceivable genre and style. Loops no longer have to sound like loops, with advanced audioslicing tools giving you the power to re-arrange and manipulate them more flexibly than ever before. It’s not only pre-recorded samples that can be looped, either – creating your own in Cubase is simple and you can quickly build up a track by recording a few good loops and duplicating them rather than playing a pattern repeatedly and hoping you get it right each time.
