Mastering is one of the areas of the music production process that has to a great extent been demystified in the last couple of years. Increasingly regarded as an essential final step in producing tracks by musicians who might once have thought it the preserve of bands with lots of cash, mastering is becoming a task more easily performed ‘at home’ thanks to the steadily falling price of the tools you need to do it.
