Cubase 5 User Guide
The latest version of Steinberg’s ever-popular DAW brings improvements to beatmaking, workflow, scoring and more. Hollin Jones dives into Cubase 5’s new features.

Cubase has been regularly updated since its fi rst, most signifi cant, rewrite, which saw legacy code ditched in favour of newer technologies to keep pace not only with the competition, but also with the constantly changing face of the computer market. Steinberg’s philosophy has been one not of wholesale change, but rather of gradual additions and refinement. Now at version 5, the popular DAW is one of the few on the market that remains truly cross-platform, while retaining compatibility with some now-ageing technologies, such as Apple’s G5 Macs.
