Cubase 5 Workshop - Recording guitar parts
The humble guitar is one of the cornerstones of modern music, cropping up in countless styles of music. Tim Hallas explains how best to capture it in Cubase 5.

Guitar players are a peculiar breed: more than most musicians they suffer from terminal GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and are constantly spending money on new instruments, amps and pedals. This is certainly true in my house – if I swapped stuff around I could easily have at least 100 different combinations, not including the dozens of pointless pedals! As the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia once said: ‘Among God’s creatures, two, the dog and the guitar, have taken all the sizes and all the shapes, in order not be separated from the man.’
