Cubase 5 Workshop - Time Warping
Nothing to do with dodgy 70s musicals, Time Warp is an invaluable Cubase tool when it comes to combining live and programmed parts. Tim Hallas explains why.

Musicians are totally incapable of playing in time. That’s a fact. Even the finest drummer in the world will push and pull the timing around when playing a steady rhythm. This is what makes us human, and it’s why we can instantly tell the difference between a drum machine and a live drummer. The result of this is that, as electronic musicians and producers, we are constantly having to balance the importance of project timing and musical feel.
