Cubase SX/SL3 Workshop Sound to Picture
Composing and recording for picture doesn’t always require the latest studio hardware. Hollin Jones shows you how.
In these times of increasing convergence, with software capable of performing more and more tasks in the studio, it’s surprising to discover that many musicians are unaware of Cubase’s capabilities when it comes to writing music for film. It’s true that until recently this particular job was more difficult to achieve because you needed to sync everything to video decks and other external kit (and you can still do that if you want). But digital video has come so far and become so commonplace that it’s now considerably easier to do it all from one machine. As in so many other situations, the beauty of this new technology is that it brings the world of soundtrack writing or sound design for picture to a much wider audience.
