Cubase SX/SL3 Workshop Using External Instruments
Thanks to the external instruments and effects features in Cubase SX3, it’s easy to integrate hardware straight into Cubase’s mixer. Hollin Jones shows you how.

Technology moves so quickly these days that it’s easy to get caught up in the rush to buy the latest and most advanced products. For musicians this has, in many cases, meant swapping hardware for software, as computers have replaced tape machines at the heart of most studios. This has clear advantages: software is generally cheaper, takes up no physical space and can be easily upgraded. The availability of affordable yet highly competent programs such as Cubase, Reason and Sonar has introduced a new generation of musicians to the world of digital composition and production.
