Digital noise reduction in Pro Tools LE
Digital clicks, pops and crackles are the bane of any recording. This month Joe Green looks at how to remove noise from an audio track using Pro Tools LE.
In the era of analogue recording, distortion wasn’t often too much of a big deal; in fact, in certain circumstances, it was often to be welcomed not reviled. Hi-fi buffs still celebrate the high-end distortion inherent in every LP and record deck. In the digital arena however, distortion is a much more problematic business. Whichever way you hear it, digital distortion caused by clipping or poor editing is obvious and ugly.
