Drum’n’bass is a musical style many people associate with the late 1990s. It’s true that you’re not likely to see a D’n’B act on the cover of NME these days, but reports of its demise are somewhat premature. What has happened in recent years is that the genre has fractured into a number of sub-styles, some taking it back underground (where it began) and others exploring altogether lighter and more mainstream territory. Even so, certain themes run through all these tracks that identify them as having their roots in drum’n’bass.
