Dynamics processing is the subtle – and sometimes not so subtle – art of squeezing a quart into a pint pot. The dynamics processing tools are used to reduce the dynamic range of a recording, to make the loudest parts less loud. It’s then possible to increase the volume of the entire recording, making it sound more punchy and professional without distortion kicking in.
