Guitar Rig 3 Workshop
You might think that Guitar Rig is the sole preserve of guitars and basses, but it can be used to great effect on beats as well. Hollin Jones explains.

O ne of the best bits of advice you can give anyone looking to produce more interesting music is to experiment. That doesn’t necessarily mean doing all your recording up a mountain or in the bath, but recognising that the kit you already have is more capable and flexible than you might at first realise. A program called Guitar Rig, for example, is pretty clearly aimed at guitarists and guitar processing, but just as producers have for years been using seemingly unsuited combinations of instruments, mics and amps to achieve unique sounds, the same is true in the software world.
