The sound of the electric guitar has played a massive part in popular music over the last 50 or so years, and we all have our own favourite guitar recordings. However much guitarists may talk about pickups, body woods and amp valves, we should bear in mind that the sound we’re hearing is affected by many other factors beyond the guitar and amp, important though these may be.
