Having witnessed several exponential leaps in speed and performance in recent months, the humble laptop is offering a revitalised and exciting new take on the way we produce music. Put simply, the laptop is no longer the poor relation to the desktop music computer, but a realistic and serious solution to both live performance and music production. Both on the road and in the comfy confines of the recording studio, your laptop can do everything you need it to. And whether you’re using it as a multitrack recording studio, virtual instrument, guitar amplifier or interactive audio manipulator, you won’t feel short-changed when it comes to processing power or track counts. Indeed, your laptop can be right at the centre of your music production activities.
