Live gigs are still one of the best ways to hear and play music. Xander Snell reveals how to get the most out of a live setup so that you sound professional – even on a small rig.
It’s great experience, not to mention a great thrill, for the members of a band to stand up and play in front of a live audience for the first time, particularly when they get a great response from the punters. Newcomers and small bands will usually gain valuable experience from performing in front of live audiences at smaller venues, but after the initial euphoria, these gigs often become frustrating because the band cannot achieve the sound that they want.
