Logic Pro 7 Workshop Using Ringshifter
Is Logic Pro’s RingShifter capable of more than just Dalek voices and novelty sci-fi effects? Mark Cousins takes a shifty look...
There are many must-have effects and plug-ins essential to modern recording, including compressors, reverb, EQ, delay and so on. Whether ring modulation or frequency shifting ever gets added to this list remains to be seen. To be fair, though, both of these effects are never going to be in the position of saving a mix (remedying a poor vocal or as the last point in the mastering chain, for example), but they do deserve a lot more credit than they receive.
