Fades and crossfades are key audio-editing techniques, and with Logic Pro 8 you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to creating them. Mark Cousins fades out.

It’s hard to imagine carrying out audio editing without the humble crossfade to smooth out the transition from one recording to the next. Indeed, whether the fade lasts no more than a few milliseconds or as long as several seconds (in more extreme cases), the strategic use of a crossfade can transform a dodgy edit into a transition that only the most attentive listener will discern.
