Logic Pro 8 Workshop - Surround Mixing
Transforming a stereo mix to a full 360-degree surround mix is both an intuitive and creative experience in Logic Pro 8. Mark Cousins is surrounded by sound.

For anyone working in post-production or producing music for the media, one of the most welcome improvements to Logic Pro 8 has to be its revised surround mixing capabilities. Although the surround implementation in Logic Pro 7 was workable, it lacked the finesse and sonic rigour demanded for 5.1 mixing, especially when it came to processing sounds in the surround environment. Logic Pro 8, though, clearly seems to have benefi ted from Apple’s experience of developing applications such as Final Cut Pro, including a suite of surround mixing tools that puts Logic in line with other 5.1-savvy applications such as Pro Tools.
