Logic Pro 9 Workshop - Drum editing
With a new replacement feature and the introduction of Flex Time, drum editing has become one of Logic’s most significant strengths. Mark Cousins gets chopping.

We first took a look at Logic’s drum editing features back in Issue 67, although at the time it would be fair to say that Logic Pro 8 wasn’t the quickest and most intuitive DAW for editing a multitracked kit recording. Since the introduction of Logic Pro 9, though, multitrack drum editing has been revolutionised thanks to the wonders of Flex Time, phase locked group editing and even a new drum replacement feature. When used effectively, these tools can transform even the most lacklustre of drum recordings, as well as open up a stream of new rhythmic possibilities thanks to the flexible ways in which you can handle and manipulate a drum kit.
