Logic Pro 9 workshop - Selective Track Importing
Moving information between projects is now much easier thanks to Logic 9’s selective track importing feature. Mark Cousins shows you how it’s done.

Selective track importing has become a common feature of many DAWs, so it’s no surprise that Logic 9 now includes a healthy range of project-based track importing options. In essence, selective track importing enables you to merge data between projects either importing a complete track lane (including both the audio regions and associated plug-in settings) from a selected project or specific types of data within that project, including the tempo track, plug-in settings or automation. What’s even more interesting, though, is how the track import feature can actively improve your day-to-day workflow, providing ‘initialised’ mix settings, for example, or offering a more efficient way of working with multi-channel instruments such as Kontakt.
