There’s a lot for the home musician to think about when producing their
own tracks: getting the right guitar sound, choosing the right synths,
sorting out the arrangement, perfecting the mix, and so on. And the
most frequently overlooked stage of production is mastering – the
process of applying acoustic treatment to tracks to make them as loud,
balanced and polished as possible, and to ensure that they’ll sound
good on any system, be it a car stereo or a PA.
