Composing music for film and television has become an increasingly popular and accessible pursuit in recent years, and some find it an easier way to earn a living from music than trying to land that elusive record deal. Even though there are plenty of programs available that enable film editors to put together backing tracks from readymade loops, the pre-packaged nature of the results can be rather obvious. This is where the skill and originality of a musician come in – when time and money allow, of course.
