Mic frequency response
Microphone frequency-response charts provide valuable information about a mic’s performance. Grant Bridgeman explains the theory behind the terminology.
!ll microphones sound and perform differently – try recording the same source through a number of different mics and you will hear just how different the recordings are. Part of what defines a microphone’s character is its frequency response – that is, how the mic interprets and converts the acoustic information it receives into electrical signals.
