More secrets of Logic's Arrange page
This month, Andrew Taylor-Maskrey completes his look at customising the look and operation of the Arrange page.
Often heard is the myth that Logic is a complicated program. Complex it can be, but it’s as complex or as simple as you want to make it. Something Logic offers, that many other programs don’t, is choice. At first glance, this can feel a bit like walking into an American coffee bar. Being faced with so many choices can be frustrating. However, once you find your way of working, having the ability to personalise your working environment is something of a bonus. One way that Logic achieves this is by having a comprehensive and fully customisable set of Key Commands. Another is the ability to have multiple instances of any particular window open simultaneously. Each time you use the main menu bar to open an edit window, Logic opens another version of the same edit window. This can be both frustrating and messy, but once you organise your screensets, you no longer need to open new edit windows. The result is less time spent clicking mouse buttons, and more time spent writing and recording music.
