We all know why it’s good to get our music online, but how do we ensure our visitors will be able to listen to our tracks… and be happy to come back for more? Ian Waugh discusses the best formats for the net.

For musicians, one of the great things about the internet is the ability to put your own music up there for visitors to listen to, download and perhaps even pay for. But there seems to be an unwieldy number of formats vying for our attention, so which one should you use?
