Pick of the Plug-ins
Plug-ins are an integral part of modern music systems, vastly extending the sonic potential of your DAW. Hollin Jones takes you through some of his personal favourites.

There have been a few developments in the history of music technology that can reasonably lay claim to being true milestones, changing forever the way we approach the recording and production of music. The mixing desk is an obvious one, as was the advent of analogue tape and the invention of the keyboard workstation, and you can probably add a few of your own. One of the more recent developments to place on this illustrious list, however, is undoubtedly the plugin. Taken more or less for granted these days, the plugin, along with the software DAW, has probably done more than anything else to open up the world of professional music production to the average man in the street.
