PJ Harvey - Down By The Water - Features

In the start of a new series, Joe Silva speaks to John Parish and discovers how he helped coax a master work from PJ Harvey’s vintage MT1X 4-track cassette machine.

Musical mates since he tapped her to join his band Automatic Dlamini back in 1988, producer John Parish was more than willing to help Polly Harvey birth her 1995 epic To Bring You My Love. Parish was already contemplating a sabbatical from lecturing at college to finish up what would eventually become their Dance Hall At Louse Point project when Harvey suggested he work on her solo record, as well.
