Preparing a live set: learning the basics
The new features in Reason 5 make it an ideal gigging companion, but with a little preparation Reason 4 is still perfectly adequate. Hollin Jones goes live.

Reason has earned a reputation for being kind to your computer, in the sense that it will run well even on a slightly older machine thanks to its relatively moderate system requirements. This also means that it plays nicely on laptops, and in version 3, Propellerhead added the Remote system for connecting multiple controllers to a Mac or PC running Reason, enabling them to perform various kinds of playing or triggering tasks.
