Project Studio Conversion
Grant Bridgeman tells the story of how he converted a redundant outbuilding at his Leicestershire home into a two-room floating studio structure for less than £3,000.

As music and studio equipment for the home become more powerful, so working from the spare bedroom becomes less attractive. Modern homes are not built to minimise sound transmission, nothing really fits and the acoustics are appalling. So what about taking things up a level and actually building a small project studio to suit your specific needs? Converting an external building into a project studio may sound like a daunting and expensive task, but good-quality results can be achieved on a limited budget – if you are prepared to do the work yourself. And this was exactly what I decided to do.
