Psychoacoustics is a specialist field that researches how the human body perceives and reacts to sound – and is an important area of study for sound engineers. By appreciating some of the principal concepts of psychoacoustics, we are able to hear our mixes in a different light and make our recordings more stimulating – in the biological sense – to listen to.
