Reason 3.0 Workshop Constructing Drum Kits
Tired of using the same old drum kits for your tracks? Build your own from scratch using Reason’s ReDrum and Combinator. Hollin Jones explains...

Making music with Reason’s built-in synths and loops is remarkably easy to get to grips with. Immediacy is one of its strongest selling points, and for the first couple of days after installing Reason, you might not stray too far from the presets and sounds in the Factory Sound Bank ReFills – there is, after all, a lot of cool stuff in there, covering a range of styles. But as you become more familiar with working in Reason, you will probably want to start to customise things, to create unique sounds and effects. For synths, this usually involves experimenting with filters and oscillators. For beats, you’ll need to get creative with the ReDrum.
