Reason 3.0 Workshop Drum 'n' Bass Beats

Struggling to create pounding, skittering drum‘n’bass beats in Reason? Hollin Jones offers a new approach to a fundamental task.

Reason lends itself particularly well to styles of music that can broadly be described as ‘electronic’ – or, to put it another way, music that consists of beats and sequences of some kind. Its friendly approach to working with samplers and loop players means that it’s ideal for creating complex rhythms – in many cases, beats that couldn’t easily be played by a person. This is especially true of drum‘n’bass, where tempos are usually deliberately fast and beats complex, and where there are far more drum variations and fills in a track than you would find in any other genre.
