Reason 4 Workshop - Live Performance (part 2)
In the second part of our live performance tutorial, Hollin Jones shows you how to configure Reason so that several musicians can use it at once.

Our last Workshop looked at how to connect several MIDI control devices to Reason 4 and use them to trigger various devices in the Rack. We noted that some control surfaces are supported natively by Reason (and will remap their controls to suit whichever module you select) and how, if you have a generic or unsupported controller, you can use MIDI Learn to manually assign hardware knobs, sliders and buttons to software controls. In discussing how to set up a live performance in which Reason is ‘playable’ by several people at once we stressed the importance of planning and preparation – making notes to remind you which button did what or which drum patterns were stored in which ReDrum slots.
