Reason’s selection of synths, although excellent in its day, had started to look a little long in the tooth in the face of competition from increasingly professional-sounding third-party virtual instruments. While creating Reason 4, Propellerhead focused much of its attention on building a brand-new synth module that would bring the program back to the cutting edge of sound generation.
