Reason 4 Workshop - Working With Clips
Reason 4 uses clips to manage notes and patterns – and they can help to improve both your workflow and the feel of your tracks. Hollin Jones demonstrates their uses.

The move from Reason 3.0 to version 4 saw many big, obvious additions and changes, such as the new Thor synth and the ReGroove mixer. As well as these headline new features, though, there were also many minor changes that although less glamorous, were very important in improving workflow. These included the introduction of clips for working with data in the sequencer, plus a new lane-based approach to recording and automation. Clips may appear to be simply blocks of colour sitting on a timeline, but they can offer you much greater flexibility when it comes to arranging music, as well as more control over your projects thanks to some tricks and tools that you may not yet be aware of.
