Record Workshop - Pro tips on improving workflow
Fully understanding how Record is structured will help you to work more quickly and efficiently, as Hollin Jones finds out.

Propellerhead has made a name for itself by creating software that is advanced yet remarkably easy to use. Reason, for example, won lots of fans thanks to its friendly interface. And when creating Record, the challenge was to incorporate many new features while still maintaining that usability. Unlike many DAWs, which rely on multiple windows for different elements – the mixer, project, instruments and so on – Record defaults to a single-window interface, although you have the option of splitting off the major sections in new windows if you have sufficient monitors. It’s a bold strategy, and although it works well, it takes a little getting used to. Understanding how Record is structured and how to move around it will help you greatly in your everyday music-making and can dramatically improve your workflow
