Recording Masterclass
Recording is the first part of the production process and one that’s essential to get right. Hollin Jones guides you through recording guitars, drums, vocals, pianos and more.

Recording is something that practically every musician and producer will have to learn to do at some point in their career. For those who are a little older, this used to mean working with reel-to-reel tape, ADATs or other tape-based systems. Going back a couple of decades, anyone with a modest budget could get a tape four- or eight-track machine, a MiniDisc recording multitracker or a hard disk-based machine for capturing and mixing audio. In the last ten years or so, the computer has become king when it comes to recording, and computers are the medium through which most people are now introduced to the world of recording.
