Room Modes
The size and shape of a room will have a profound effect on how your ears perceive music – both while listening and mixing. Grant Bridgeman explores the influence of room modes.

Any room in which we listen to music has its own characteristics that can shape and colour what we hear. From concert venues through project studios to home cinema setups, the environment itself can drastically alter the sound we perceive when compared to the sound at source – and in the studio environment we need to be sure that we are mixing the music we are making, not shaping the mix to suit the room that we are in.
